My Website Success Story

The success of Simply Stunning Scrapbooks is very exciting and rewarding.

Success can be measured in many ways, and this website has succeeded in three areas that mean a lot to me.

Simply Stunning Scrapbooks allowed me to become a work-at-home mom(WAHM) after the birth of my son. I am the mother of three children, teenage and adolescent daughters, and a son (toddler).

I juggled a full time job while my daughters were young. I really wanted to stay at home with my son, who joined the family seven years after my younger daughter.

I started scrapbooking when my oldest daughter was just a year old. For a number of years I had explored the idea of earning an income from doing something I loved... scrapbooking.

I tried direct sales via home parties and looked into doing scrapbooking for hire. I knew the Internet was where I wanted to be, but didn't know how to go about building a successful online business.

So my dream was put on the back burner as I worked jobs that my heart wasn't in.

I left my part-time bookkeeping position just before my son arrived. I enjoyed this position, and I had a fair amount of flexibility, but the addition of daycare was just too much.

I began to look at options of being a Work-At-Home Mom (WAHM). I wanted to work smarter, not harder. I didn't want to work evenings or weekends to avoid daycare. This would have made family time non-existent.

I dreamed of having the flexibility to work when I wanted, to schedule my hours around my family's needs.

A few months after the birth of my son, some friends introduced me to Site Build It! (SBI). My excitement grew as they showed me their website, and what it had done for their family.

I knew I had found my WAHM solution! I had thought of building a website previously. I knew I could build the site, but had no clue how to bring traffic to it.

SBI provided the tools, training and help I needed in one easy to follow package.

I started Simply Stunning Scrapbooks in December 2008. I spend about 15 to 20 hours per week on my site.

Traffic started to build within the first two months. It increases steadily each month.

During the summer of 2009 life got a bit crazy and I hardly touched my website. When I got back to work in the fall I found that traffic had remained steady.

Now it is full steam ahead, and I am beginning to implement my income earning strategies (monetizing). Traffic is increasing and I am starting to see the results.

I love the freedom that I have found in building my website. I work on my site when my older kids are at school and when my son is napping or playing.

I don't have set hours for work. I love having the freedom to arrange my work each day to suit other things going on in my life.

I have time to volunteer at school, in the community or at church. I can meet friends for lunch or go shopping during the day.

I love the freedom of deciding what I want in my life, and the lifestyle of working from home.

My favorite spot to work is the kitchen table, where I can keep an eye on my little boy as he plays. I have a wonderful view of the yard, and I can show up to work in my favorite jeans and t-shirt, bare feet or fuzzy slippers.

I'm so glad I've had the freedom to enjoy life's precious moments; like first steps, new words and children's laughter. What a sweet success!

It is deeply rewarding to know that the information that I publish on Simply Stunning Scrapbooks helps other scrapbookers achieve their own desires.

When I share my scrapbooks with others, many comment that they don't have the time or don't feel they are creative enough to create beautiful scrapbooks.

I now have a way to share the ideas, tips and techniques that helped me find the time to scrapbook through working full time and raising children.

Simply Stunning Scrapbooks has risen to the top 2% of all sites on the web, almost in the top 1%! It's hard for me to believe that less than 2% of the tens of millions of websites online receive more traffic than this site!

How is it possible for a website that's operated by a mom who works from the kitchen table to achieve that kind of success?

Much of the credit goes to the website tools I use.

SBI includes everything; website hosting, keyword brainstorming, search engine optimization and submission. Tools like site syndication feed put my articles right in front of people who are interested in reading them.

Having a suite of tools and all-in-one service saves so much time and money. I don't have to put together software and services from different providers, and fiddle with them to make them work together.

I get to concentrate on writing good content and getting traffic to my site. I can leave all the technical stuff to SBI... and work smarter, not harder.
