Types of Pen There are several different tips available. Different tips will create different effects in your scrapbook doodling. Use just one or mix them all together for creative effects and lettering styles to match the personality of your page. Fine-tip Pens – These are a great choice for journaling. They are also perfect for detailed doodles and accents. Great for outlining shapes and letters, drawing fine polka dots, swirls, stitches and dashes. Chisel-Tip Pens – Create elegant letters (calligraphy style) by holding the pen at a 45-degree angle. Hold the pen straight up, vertically for a fine line. Position the pen horizontally for a thick bold line. Round-Tip Pens – These pens create a consistent bold line. Great for creating bold lettering, tracing templates and making bold polka dots and swirls.
Borders and Corner Accents Create borders with scrapbook doodling directly on the page, or add some detail to papers or stickers used for borders. Templates and edge patterns make creating borders easy. Use them for the base of your doodle, then embellish with stickers and more doodling. Unique corner accents are a snap. Add a few swirls, dots, or squiggles, decorate with some stickers and there you have it! Try doodling with shapes that are used in your background papers or embelishments.

Techniques and Tips Draw your designs lightly with a pens, then trace over them with your pens. When lettering or drawing borders, draw a light line in pencil as a guide.
