Scrapbookbook Punch Art Ideas
Add a bit of fun to your scrapbook pages with punch art.
Scrapbook punches can create simple accents for your pages. With just a bit of imagination, turn those accents into whimsical critters and more.
Don't limit yourself to the just the shape your scrapbooking paper punches were intended. Combine different sizes and shapes to create critters and other objects. A few basic punches, colored/pattered paper, pens and adhesive are all you need to create many fun punch art projects for your scrapbooks. Let's look at some basic punch shapes and some of the things they can be used for. Hearts wings, legs, butterflies, flower petals, ears, strawberries. Scallop baby bib, baby carriage, sheep, hair. Circle ears, eyes, nose, head, body, flower centers, bubbles, cars. Swirls confetti, snails, bug antennas, tails, whiskers. Music Note legs, arms. Star beak, legs. Splat paint or water splats, greens on strawberries, tomatoes and pumpkins.
Punch Art Designs
Here are some punch art critters, flowers and objects. Each design is accompanied by instructions and the punches and supplies needed to make them.
Bumble Bees  Click image for larger view Bumble BeeHere are two bumble bees that would look great on those summer page layouts. Punches Needed 1 Circle (head) 1 ½ Circle (body) Ύ Heart (wings)
Card Stock Yellow Black Grey
Other Supplies Black permanent pen Adhesive Scissors
 Click image for larger view Flying Bumble BeePunch a 1 circle from the yellow card stock, a 1 ½ circle from the black card stock, and two Ύ hearts from the grey card stock. Cut two strips of yellow card stock 1 ½ X 1/8. Adhere to the black circle, dividing it in thirds. Trim excess with scissors. Adhere the black circle (body) to the page. Adhere the hearts (wings) with the tips tucked behind the black circle. Draw a line from the body towards the larger tip of the wing. Adhere the yellow circle (head) to the page, slightly overlapping the body. Draw the eyes, mouth, antenna and legs with a black pen. Note: Music note punch can be used for the legs, a swirl punch for the antenna and the tip of a star for the stinger. For the flying bee, use one heart (wing). Draw in a stinger.

Card Stock Green Yellow floral pattern
Other Supplies Pens Adhesive
Punch one 1 ½ circle (head) from green card stock, one 1 Ό circle (head) from yellow floral patterned card stock, five 1 Ό circles (body) from green card stock and five 1 circles (body) from yellow floral patterned card stock. Adhere the 1 Ό yellow circle to the 1 ½ green circle for the face. Punch the smiley face from green card stock and adhere to face. Adhere the 1 yellow circles to the 1 Ό green circles for the body. Note: Draw smiley face with pen as an option. Adhere the body circles to the page, overlapping and alternating with one higher and one lower. Adhere the head circle slightly higher than the body. Draw antenna with pen. Note: Small swirl punch can be used to create antenna.
Ladybugs
 Click image for larger view LadybugThese darling ladybugs are just itching to crawl onto your summer picnic pages. Punches needed 1 Circle (head) 1 Ό Circle (body) 1 ½ Circle (Wings) Micro Circle (spots, optional)
Card Stock Red Black
Other Supplies Black permanent pen Adhesive Scissors or trimmer
 Click image for larger view LadybugPunch a 1 circle (head from black card stock, a 1 Ό circle (body) from black card stock, and a 1 ½ circle (wings) from red card stock. Cut the red circle in half with scissors or trimmer. Adhere the body and head to the page, slightly overlapping. Adhere the wings with the tips touching at the top, spreading out at an angle towards the bottom. Draw three dots on each wing and two antennae with black pen. Note: Can use micro circle punch for the dots, and a swirl punch for antennae. For the side view ladybug use one wing with three dots and one antenna.
