Ideas for Mini Scrapbooks
Fast and Simple

Mini Scrapbooks are fast and simple.

They are perfect for that weekend project. A theme works well for these small albums.

Keep the focus narrow, as you don't need as many photos to fill these small scrapbooks.

Smaller sizes, such as 8 X 8, are popular for these small albums.

Here are some fun ideas for doing scrapbooking using mini albums.

A Book About Your Name

Of all the ideas for mini scrapbooks, this is one of my favorites.

How much do you know about your name? Ever wondered where your name comes from or what it means? A book about our name is a great way to capture who we are; why our parents picked that name, who shares our name, and more.

A name is a gift we give our children at birth and they carry for the rest of their lives. Celebrate who they are by creating an album about their name.

Let your child know they are important and unique. Some name related pages and information you may want to include in your book are:

  • Title page that includes full name, initials and a photo

  • Why they were given their name. Were they named after someone in the family or someone famous? If so, include a photo of that person.

  • Origin and meaning of name. Include a short definition of the name and where the name comes from. Include photos of that person that fit the meanings of the names.

  • Nicknames

  • Friends or famous people who share their name. Include photos and information of people and places that share their name.

  • Personality pages. List adjectives for each letter in the name. Include photos of the person that fit the adjectives if you have some.

  • Family surname. Include a photo of the child with their father or a generational photo.

  • Pedigree chart showing lineage of the family surname.

  • Include a brief history of the surname, including the origins and any translations for meanings in other languages.

Give your child a gift as unique as their name. Show them what's in a name with their very own book about their name.

A collector's scrapbook is the perfect place to record your collection, along with the memories that go with it.
